Randomly My Life

I’ve been taking pictures of ramdon things lately. Stuff that just pops up into my life. Maybe a little insight into what I’ve been up to in 2010.

These graffiti hearts appear all over Traverse City. Here’s one by the fishing weir.

Saw this little guy on the sidewalk in Grand Rapids. Someone out there is missing a giraffe.

A view from the tasting room at Leelanau Cellars.

This is me in my Census Bureau vest. Sadly, I was only trained and not used. But I did get this vest so that hunters wouldn’t shoot me while enumerating.

A shot from my ride on the Vasa Trail. That’s it for my randomness. Hope you enjoyed it.

So I’ve Become a Coffee Snob

CoffeeSnob

Can you believe it? I can’t either. I have never been known as a coffee drinker. No need to get addicted to something and just crave it every morning. And I can’t really say that I am not that way yet. Yet. But, I do enjoy coffee more. This is all Jen’s influence. She gets coffee delivered from Boca Java And I guess that’s where it all started. She got some Kona coffee, which is lighter. I drank it and just thought it was so weak. Good…but lighter. So apparently that means that I like darker coffee. You know a good dark or medium roast.

So after this I have been randomly buying & trying some new coffees. I bought some Trader Joe’s Volcano Coffee. Then some Ikea coffee. Just trying to get my grounding here. And then some Mind, Body & Soul Organic Dark Roast from a place here in town called Oryana. On and on it has gone.

This is the recent purchase from Higher Grounds, which is local to Traverse City:

It’s a pretty good coffee. Very dark. And I like it. I guess this is nothing huge, but I’m just saying I’m picky. And that I drink coffee more often now. All good. Change is good.

Is it that time of the month??

The other day, Tuesday to be exact, Jen and I decided to go thrift store shopping in Traverse City. We headed to Goodwill first, and were amazed that we couldn’t find a parking spot. After driving around for a bit we finally found one. Did a little shopping and later found out that it was Senior Day, where all the blue hair get 20% off! Hooray!

Next we went to this Woman’s Community Center to shop for treats. This store usually has some good fun as we purchased our Ugly Christmas Sweater Party attire there. Just looking around as usual. I always like to check the books out because every now and then you can find a first edition of something cool. Nope. No sweet first editions. But we did find this gem.

I never really considered that I would have to or be able to RETHINK menstruation. A pretty disturbing book. But at least it was better than all of churchy books.
