I found this Vintage Poster Tutorial on GoMedia for a vintage poster. Specifically I enjoyed the type.

I’m not really into gorilla art, so here is what I did for my version. For those of you wondering, this was complete in Photoshop. I used turquoise because apparently, it is this year’s it color. And well, Bekes, because it is a nickname.

Like I’ve said before…I’ve been getting more and more into web design. Not just design, but the coding and limitations of each browser. (Internet Explorer you suck!) So here’s a little mock up that I created on a client that I recently worked with on some collateral.

Here’s a link to the Website Mockup Tutorial
As you can tell, I changed the colors and gave it my own touch. I did this in Photoshop, but set the type in Illustrator. Enjoy!

I find that tutorials usually give me a way of doing something that I usually don’t think of. So I like to expand my repertoire of skills but expanding them even more. Here are two Photoshop tutorials that I just did.
Photoshop Tutorial 1 This was a type tutorial, but I really didn’t like the type on the image. So I decided to do my own thing. And here it is.

The next tutorial is featured on a great tutorial site called PSD Tuts. Here’s the tutorial that I did: 3dType PSD Tut I used some different colors and again kind of did my own thing. Nothing wrong with just figuring things out.

I just did Bekes Blog because I am looking into adding a blog specifically to Bekes Creative I do have a lot of work to do for that site. Mainly designing it and coding it. What I have up there right now is just temporary.
And here is a list of 50 + Typography Tutorials Happy Photoshoping!

This morning I was just in the mood to be stupid and do some doodles. I just whipped up this in photoshop. Here’s my new wallpaper.

That one got a little bright with all of the colors…so I dulled it down a bit with a gray layer. And this my friends is what is my current wallpaper:

Here’s another little treat that I did recently. All in photoshop. A wood pattern overlay with some color.

Though, I must say that the majority of my time has been devoted to web design. Learning the ins and outs. CSS, some jQuery and some JaVaScript. Web design, gardening, painting and P90X-ing. The gardening is going well too. Minus something eating all of my sunflowers and green peppers. There are still plenty of squash coming in and tomatoes abound. Should provide fruitful.
And painting. Well, for the past few weeks I have been hitting up Michael’s to get a canvas, brushes and paint. Acrylic at that. I have a 30″x40″ canvas that I’ve been working on. More too come on that when it is finished though. I want to do some cut canvas stuff too. You know with a saw and cut it to the shape that I want. Lots going on in my mind. Just need to get it all out.
As for the P90x, it’s intense. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a crazy work out for 90 days straight. P90X I can’t say that I have been doing them everyday, but I have been doing them. My knee has been hurting a bit so I am trying to be delicate there. I can tell the improvement though. The first time I did my arms I could only do about 5 push ups. Now I’m up to 10 or 15. It’s working!! I’ve run only once since the 5k on 7/11/09. I just didn’t feel like running. It happens. Plus the knee.
The extraordinary thing about the Festival of Races 5k for the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City was a) that it was on my birthday (28) – b) that I ran in my hot dog costume. And c) my friend Ashley ran with me. So here’s a pic. Ashley’s in the pink:

And that’s about it for now.

Another prime Florida Keys pic from yours truly. Yes, I know, you just can’t get enough of my life. So I decided to spice up this photo last night. I like to do the before and after like one of those crazy weight loss commercials. Here’s the before:

And here is the sensual AFTER (I put after in all caps to make it super special):

Isn’t photo manipulation just so much fun. Ok, I’m a nerd, but it does look a ton better. I have a lot of pictures to mess with, so get ready for them. And really? A giant snorkel? Yes, please!

I recently took a little road trip down through the Florida Keys. There were lots of interesting eye treats on the way down to Key West, which was the final destination. So that means that I took a large number of ridiculous photos. I recently found a vintage photo tutorial and wanted to try it out on some of the pics that I took. So here is the results.

This boat was just laying by the road and I thought it would be perfect for the vintage feel. You know old wood boat, old vintage pic. I followed the tutorial to the T for this one. Here’s the tutorial Vintage Photo Tutorial

If you have seen my Twitter profile, this is my picture. This picture alone cracks me up. A giant shrimp attached to the top of a blue station wagon. Priceless. I just threw this in above the boat layer in Photoshop. Then I added some grungy corners with the grungy corner brushes that I have. I also upped the contrast on the car picture itself. Super awesome Florida treat.
