So a lot of designers have taken to designing some song lyrics or a movie quote. I thought I’d take a stab. Just music I like. Or a particular lyric that I’m fond of. I’m not going to say anything like I’ll do one each day, but maybe every now and then.

“Bartender” -Dave Matthews Band

“Mrs. Potter’s Lullaby” – Counting Crows

“Dreaming” – Blondie

Not really sure what I am doing with these designs, but I am trying some new stuff. I haven’t had much time lately to just sit and design. So this is just all for fun.

This one is just playing with a geometric shape and some different typography.

This abstract image I had created before. This time I just added some type to it.

Just a ribbon. Well, you know, because I am #1.

I don’t know what it is, but some sexy type on photos looks great. I was just playing around for the fun of it and here are some of the photos that I added some sexy type treatments to. Some are kind of funny, some are just nice. Also, if you’d like to see them bigger, just click on the image.

This was taken in Key West, FL., this little friend was harassing me as I ate my lunch.

This picture is also from the visit to Key West. I had just driven all day through the keys and was enjoying downtown Key West. Here’s the sunset from that day.

This photo was taken on my first visit to NYC. I did live there for almost two years, but this was a family visit in the spring of 2006.

Another shot from that first visit to NYC. We did the whole Statue of Liberty thing (which you saw) and the Ellis Island tour.
Hope you enjoyed it!

Here’s another logo, well two variations, that I did for a crowdsourcing website. I started the logo in Illustrator, and then moved it into Photoshop to give it that glossy/sexy look. Something I usually don’t do when making a logo. It’s all about growing people. Expanding our horizons and becoming better at what we do!

And here’s the one with the sexy/glossy reflection.

I’m not really into wearing too much jewelry, but I recently came across this Etsy shop: Plastique I thought they had some cool stuff. Unique and very hip….if you’re a designer. So here’s two examples of the bling. Check ‘em out!

Command Z is “Undo” for you non-macintosh users. It’s a common short-cut for those designers out there!

Helvetica is a popular font. Probably one of the most popular. It is used for numerous corporate logos including American Airlines, Staples, Crate & Barrel, Jeep & TARGET, etc.

I find that tutorials usually give me a way of doing something that I usually don’t think of. So I like to expand my repertoire of skills but expanding them even more. Here are two Photoshop tutorials that I just did.
Photoshop Tutorial 1 This was a type tutorial, but I really didn’t like the type on the image. So I decided to do my own thing. And here it is.

The next tutorial is featured on a great tutorial site called PSD Tuts. Here’s the tutorial that I did: 3dType PSD Tut I used some different colors and again kind of did my own thing. Nothing wrong with just figuring things out.

I just did Bekes Blog because I am looking into adding a blog specifically to Bekes Creative I do have a lot of work to do for that site. Mainly designing it and coding it. What I have up there right now is just temporary.
And here is a list of 50 + Typography Tutorials Happy Photoshoping!

I’ve come across a lot of cool stuff lately. So I thought I’d write some of the websites up here and pass on the “internet wealth.”
ffffound
An image bookmarking site. Great inspiration for typography, photography and all around design. Here’s some of my favorites that I have collected from the site:

SVPPLY
This is just like ffffound. But it is for clothing, tech, posters and such. Stuff that you can buy. And you can search it by the amount you want to spend.

Kickstarter
Kickstarter is a forum for people to have their projects funded. Artists, musicians etc. You can help fund a band’s new album. You can donate whatever amount of money you wish. And each project is different that the person can choose what you receive for each donation level.

SuperMarket
SuperMarket is an outlet for designers to sell their designs. It’s kind of like Etsy but with really great design. There’s a lot of great stuff on there so check it out. I just grabbed some stuff that I saw on there quickly.

Those are just some of the websites that I have been checking out lately. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
